Mission, Vision & Leadership
Vision
We will be the technology source experts enthusiastically supporting the various technologically driven Auxiliary programs and projects. We will provide the Auxiliary leaders and membership with guidance, honest answers and feedback at all times. We will constantly be looking forward, proactively implementing new ideas, and using the latest technology tools available. Mission
The Department of Information Technology will serve the Auxiliary organization and Membership in two key areas.
1. The ‘IS’ (Information Services) role is the collection and maintenance of member activity data, which is administered via AUXDATA. The AUXDATA tasking is shared directly with the Coast Guard via OSC Martinsburg, and OCX Headquarters.
2. The ‘CS’ (Communications Services) tasking is focused on employing emerging technologies. In the 1st decade, we have seen major improvements in how we use these resources to better communicate and manage Auxiliary needs, at all levels of the organization.
Both processes are driven by evolving technologies, a Team
of very talented National I-Department Staff Officers and nearly two
thousand dedicated ‘IS’ and ‘CS’ Officers throughout the organization. Leadership
The Department is lead by Brett Grooms, DC-I, Department Chief, John Liddell, DC-Id, Deputy Department Chief and seven Division Chiefs:
Our Department Chief is responsible for overall Management, Vision
and Direction plus interfacing with National and the Gold Side regarding
items of interest and responsibility related to our department. |
